Police investigate fatal shooting of UNIBEN student
A student of the University of Benin was shot dead by gunmen near the main campus gate in Benin City. The Edo State Police Command confirmed the incident and has launched a full investigation. What happened

- Three students, Onwuke Blessed, Alexander Omogiate, and Chinenye Christian Mbagwu, were attacked while driving out of the campus.
- A female passerby, Dorathy Ubah, was also injured during the incident.
- Alexander Omogiate was confirmed dead at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, while others are being treated.
