
Army raids terrorists and drug ring in Katsina State
Troops from Operation FANSAN YAMMA have intensified operations across Katsina State, targeting both terrorists and drug traffickers. Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja reported that the military conducted coordinated raids in multiple local government areas. The operations resulted in the neutralisation of three suspected terrorists and the recovery of stolen livestock. Six individuals were also arrested in connection with drug trafficking activities.
What happened
- Troops neutralised three suspected terrorists and recovered two AK-47 rifles, a motorcycle, and other items.
- Operations took place on May 9 across Matazu, Musawa, Kankia, Dutsin-Ma, and Malumfashi LGAs.
- 175 rustled livestock were recovered and secured by the military for handover to local authorities.
- Six suspected drug peddlers, including Sani Rabiu, Umar Nasiru, Abulkubus Aminu, Abdullahi Halilu, Abubakar Rabiu, and Abubakar Dahiru, were arrested in Malumfashi LGA.
- Seized drugs included 82.5 grams of suspected Cannabis Sativa, 15.7 grams of Exol-5, and 1.8 grams of D5, with suspects handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation.
