A severe windstorm has caused significant destruction in several local government areas of Niger State, leaving over 1,000 houses damaged and many residents displaced. What happened
- Over 1,000 houses were destroyed or severely damaged in Mokwa Local Government Area, including communities such as Sawmill, Kpege Wayata, Kpege, Station Girigi, Efu Shaba Lile, Tifin Madza, Yafu, Etisheshi, Hakimi Aliyu, and Nasfat.
- In Bida Local Government Area, affected wards include Cheniyan, Nasarafu, Bariki, Kyari, Dokoza, Masaga A, and Masaga B.
- Additional windstorm incidents were reported in Lavun, Katcha, Gbako, and Mariga Local Government Areas, with over 100 houses destroyed in Durgu Community under Bobi Ward of Mariga LGA.
