ADC criticises government’s claims on economic growth
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has challenged the Federal Government’s celebration of Nigeria’s reported GDP growth, saying it does not reflect the daily struggles of citizens. In a statement by Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC argued that economic statistics are being used to mask the hardship experienced by ordinary Nigerians. The party highlighted issues such as rising food prices, inflation, and unemployment, insisting that growth is only meaningful if it improves people’s lives. The ADC questioned what there is to celebrate amid worsening economic conditions.
