Two arrested after UTME candidate killed in Ikorodu
Two suspects have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for the abduction and killing of 17-year-old Thompson Adams, a UTME candidate in Ikorodu. The suspects, Elijah Emmanuel and Tony Ogenata, were apprehended after police investigations linked them to the crime. According to Fatai Tijani, the state Commissioner of Police, the suspects were also involved in a previous murder case. Police say the suspects will be charged to court after investigations.
What happened
- Thompson Adams, aged 17, was abducted and killed by two former schoolmates after returning from the examination hall on April 22, 2026.
- The suspects, Elijah Emmanuel (23) and Tony Ekwen Ogenata (21), were arrested on April 27, 2026 at Lucky Fibre, Ikorodu.
- Police revealed the suspects disposed of Adams' body in the community after the murder.
- Further investigation showed the suspects had earlier kidnapped and murdered a female victim on November 30, 2025, after collecting a N300,000 ransom from her family.
- The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, stated the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
