Police rescue five kidnapped polytechnic students in Ogun
Five students from Gateway Polytechnic, Saapade, were rescued by the Ogun State Police Command after being abducted by armed criminals. What happened
- The kidnapping occurred on 27th April 2026 when a distress report was received by the Ipara division.
- Police found an abandoned Toyota vehicle with bullet impacts, blood stains, and personal belongings, including a Gateway Polytechnic student ID.
- Tactical units, including SWAT and Anti-Kidnapping Unit, were deployed for a coordinated rescue operation.
- The five students were rescued on 28th April 2026 after a gun battle with the kidnappers, who fled with suspected gunshot wounds.
