Police rescue 17 pupils kidnapped from Kogi Islamic school
Seventeen pupils abducted from an Islamic school in Lokoja have been rescued by officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Kogi State. The pupils were kidnapped on April 26 at Daarul Kitab School, which also has an orphanage attached. According to ASP Saliu Afusat, a joint security team was mobilised after the incident, leading to the rescue operation. Efforts are ongoing to free the remaining victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
What happened
- Gunmen kidnapped 26 people, including 24 pupils and two wives of the proprietor, from Daarul Kitab School on April 26 at about 11:45 p.m.
