
NDLEA seizes 10,000 captagon pills and arrests suspects in major drug busts
Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, announced several major drug seizures and arrests across Nigeria. The agency intercepted 10,000 captagon pills in Kwara State, marking a significant disruption to drug trafficking networks. Multiple suspects were arrested in connection with seizures of various drugs, including tramadol, cocaine, and cannabis, in different states. The NDLEA commended its officers for their efforts and warned against attempts to revive trafficking routes.
What happened
- Femi Babafemi, NDLEA spokesperson, reported that 10,000 captagon pills were seized from Nasiru Mu’azu on Tuesday, 21st April 2026 in Kwara State.
- On Friday, 24 April, NDLEA intercepted a trailer in Kwara, recovering large quantities of tramadol, co-codamol, and bromazepam, and arrested Aminu Isah.
- In Oyo State on 21 April, Eze Prince Emeka was arrested after excreting 45 pellets of cocaine during observation.
- On Saturday, 25 April, NDLEA seized over a million pills of opioids in Edo State, arrested two suspects, and destroyed 20,000 kilograms of cannabis in Cross River State.
- The NDLEA also seized improvised explosive device components in Niger State and continued sensitisation activities in schools and communities nationwide.
