
Army rescues kidnap victim and recovers ransom in Plateau
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued a kidnapped woman and recovered N8 million ransom in Plateau State. The operation was disclosed by Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh in a statement. The victim was found in Padam Forest after intelligence gathering and interrogation of a suspect. Following her rescue, she received medical attention and was reunited with her family.

- Troops carried out the rescue on April 25, 2026, in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area.
- The victim was abducted from Bauna area of Shendam Local Government Area on April 19, 2026.
- The operation led to the recovery of N8 million ransom previously paid by the victim’s family.
- The rescued woman was taken to General Hospital, Shendam, for medical care before reuniting with her family.
- Troops are continuing operations to find and arrest other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
