
Police recover stolen cars in separate Kano operations
The Kano State Police Command has recovered two stolen vehicles in different operations in Tarauni and Kumbotso areas. The recoveries were made following intelligence-led efforts and community collaboration. CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa and Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori highlighted the importance of proactive policing and community partnership. The police are continuing their investigations to apprehend the suspects involved.
What happened
- A Toyota Corolla LE, 2004 model, was stolen on April 22, 2026, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Mambolo Street, Zone 2, Wuse, Abuja, and later recovered in Tarauni, Kano.
- The vehicle was found after intelligence-led operations by the Special Intervention Squad, but the suspected thief remains at large.
- An unregistered Kia Optima belonging to Musbahu Baba Muhammad was stolen on April 24, 2026, from Khalifa Isyaka Rabiu Friday Mosque, Gadon Kaya.
- The Kia Optima was recovered at about 5:30 a.m. on April 25, 2026, at Ja’en Quarters with help from the Zone 5 Ja’en Vigilante Group.
- Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori praised the police teams and community members for their swift action and urged the public to keep supporting security efforts.
