Ibom Air donates malaria drugs and plans awareness walk in Akwa Ibom
Ibom Air has donated 50,000 doses of anti-malaria drugs to the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health, aiming to support children and pregnant women in affected communities. The donation includes Sulfadoxine-Pyrimethamine, Lokmal DT, and Paracetamol DT. George Uriesi, CEO of Ibom Air, led the presentation, which was received by Dr Ekem Emmanuel John. The airline is also organizing a public awareness walk to mark World Malaria Day.
What we know
- Ibom Air donated 30,000 doses of Sulfadoxine-Pyrimethamine, 10,000 doses of Lokmal DT, and 10,000 doses of Paracetamol DT to the State Ministry of Health.
- The drugs were formally presented on April 24, 2026, by George Uriesi and received by Dr Ekem Emmanuel John.
- The initiative is part of Ibom Air’s FAMPact Corporate Social Responsibility program.
- An awareness walk, “Walk Against Malaria,” is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th, 2026, in Uyo, starting at Ibom Plaza at 6:00 AM.
- Medical influencer Aproko Doctor (Dr Chinonso Egemba Fidelis) will attend the event to help raise awareness about malaria prevention.
