Lagos outlines new sanitation rules and warns of penalties
The Lagos State Government has detailed plans for the return of its monthly environmental sanitation exercise. Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, explained that the initiative will include movement restrictions and active enforcement. The exercise is set to resume on Saturday, April 25, 2026, with rewards for the cleanest communities. The announcement follows a symbolic flag-off along the Mushin–Agege Motor Road corridor on March 14.
