Court orders temporary forfeiture of drug-filled containers to NDLEA
The Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has ordered the interim forfeiture of 17 shipping containers loaded with illicit opioids, following an application by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The containers, intercepted at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex in Onne, Rivers State, contained millions of pills and over 2.4 million bottles of codeine syrup. NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) described the seizure as a significant blow to drug trafficking networks. The agency praised the judiciary, security agencies, and international partners for their roles in the operation.
