Soyinka, Obi of Onitsha to attend major Lagos art exhibition
Some of Nigeria’s most respected cultural and traditional leaders are set to attend a special art exhibition in Lagos honouring Bruce Onobrakpeya. The event, called “The Gregorian Art Exhibition,” will feature works from multiple generations of artists. Distinguished guests include Prof Wole Soyinka, the Obi of Onitsha, and several prominent traditional rulers. The exhibition aims to celebrate Onobrakpeya’s lasting impact on Nigerian modern art and foster connections across the art community.

- The exhibition will take place at Jubilee Hall, St. Gregory’s College, Ikoyi, Lagos, from April 25 to April 27, 2026.
- The opening ceremony is scheduled for April 25 at 11:30 a.m. and is strictly by invitation, with public access starting at 2:00 p.m. the same day.
- Public viewing continues on April 26 and April 27 from 11:00 a.m. daily.
- The event is organised by the St. Gregory’s College Old Boys Association and curated by Mudiare Onobrakpeya.
- The exhibition will showcase works by artists connected to St. Gregory’s College and beyond, including the late Victor Uwaifo, David Dale, and Mike Omoighe.
