Police apprehend three suspects with firearms in Ogun raids
Three suspects have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command in separate operations targeting criminal activities in the Mowe and Sagamu areas. According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the operations led to the recovery of locally made firearms, cartridges, and charms. The suspects, Opeyemi Anuoluwapo, Asaye Ajibola, and Adedeji Olufemi, were apprehended during intelligence-led stop-and-search duties. The state Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, praised the officers for their professionalism and proactive approach.
What happened
- The arrests were made between April 14 and 18, 2026, during police operations in Mowe and Sagamu.
- Opeyemi Anuoluwapo was arrested on April 14, 2026, at Mowe Bus Stop with a locally made pistol, an expended cartridge, and charms; he confessed to being part of the Eiye Confraternity.
- On April 17, 2026, Asaye Ajibola was intercepted on a motorcycle at Lafarge along Sagamu/Ogijo Road with a loaded locally made gun and nine cartridges.
- Adedeji Olufemi was caught on April 18, 2026, at the same Lafarge axis with a double-barrel gun and eight cartridges.
- All suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
