Police detain two women after deaths of mothers and babies in Ondo

- In a separate case on April 11, 2026, Genifer Sunday died after delivering at a church in Emure-Ile, where Blessing Effiong acted as the midwife.
- Both the mother and her newborn died, and Blessing Effiong was also arrested.
- The police have started investigations and deposited the bodies at local hospitals for autopsy, warning the public against using unregulated healthcare providers.
