
Police arrest suspected kidnappers and rescue hostages in Rivers
Three suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command. The suspects allegedly lured victims from across Nigeria using social media and false job offers. According to spokesperson Blessing Agabe, the police rescued three hostages and foiled another kidnapping attempt. Olugbenga Adepoju, the state Commissioner of Police, urged the public to be vigilant online.

- Chukwudekwu Emmanuel was kidnapped on 17th February, 2026, and rescued after the police operation on 14th April, 2026.
- The suspects confessed to multiple kidnappings, including the abduction of Jennifer Nnaji on 1st March, 2026, and Lakan Ayodele.
- The police recovered an operational motorcycle and are still searching for the gang leader who escaped during the operation.
