
Gunmen kidnap JAMB candidates and others on Benue highway
Several passengers, including candidates for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, were abducted by gunmen along the Makurdi-Otukpo road in Benue State. The victims were travelling in a Benue Links bus when the attack occurred, and most of the occupants were taken into the bush. Ifeanyi Emenari, the state Commissioner of Police, confirmed the incident and said a rescue operation is underway. Maxwell Ogiri, Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, also verified the abduction and noted that security operatives have been deployed.
