Customs auction seized petrol after crackdown in Kwara

What happened
- Abubakar Aliyu announced the interception and auction of 43,750 litres of Premium Motor Spirit, valued at N43.75 million, along the Niger/Kwara axis.
- The seized petrol was found in 1,510 jerry-cans and 30 drums across several smuggling hotspots, including Kaiama, Shiya, Kenu, Boriya, Luma, Bokuru-Baruten, Ilesha-Baruba, Taberu, and Salla-Gwanara.
- The operation was based on credible intelligence and aimed at dismantling illegal petroleum distribution networks.
- Aliyu commended the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, and the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for their support.
- The Customs Service called for public cooperation and pledged to continue strengthening surveillance and enforcement to curb fuel smuggling.
