Lagos woman jailed for one year over visa fraud
A Lagos court has sentenced Remilekun Balogun-Okedeyi to one year in prison for her role in a visa racketeering scheme. Justice Mojisola Dada found her guilty after she admitted to falsely claiming to be a staff member of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control. The court also gave her an option to pay a N500,000 fine instead of serving jail time. In addition, she was ordered to perform community service and enter into a bond for good behaviour.
