The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit Zone C, Owerri, has intercepted a significant quantity of illicit drugs in Benin City, Edo State. According to Bashir Balogun, the operation led to the seizure of over two million tramadol tablets and 10,000 bottles of barcadin codeine syrup. The drugs, valued at N1.056bn, were concealed in a truck along the Okada/Ofosu Expressway. Balogun emphasized the agency’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and safeguarding national security.
