
Soldiers neutralise suspects and foil kidnapping in Plateau
Troops from Operation Enduring Peace have conducted several security operations in Plateau State. According to Chinonso Oteh, the operations resulted in the neutralisation of two suspected terrorists and the arrest of a suspected kidnapper. The missions targeted insurgent corridors and responded to intelligence about armed individuals. Multiple arms and ammunition were recovered during these operations on April 4, 2026.
What happened
- Troops carried out clearance missions on April 4, 2026, in Wase Local Government Area, targeting Babangida, Adua, and Bokayi villages.
- Two suspected terrorists were neutralised in a firefight along the Babangida–Adua road; others escaped with injuries.
- Arms and ammunition, including a locally fabricated firearm and over 100 rounds of ammunition, were recovered.
- In Namu District, four suspected terrorists were intercepted, and during a subsequent operation, three were neutralised by their associates' gunfire.
- A suspected kidnapper linked to an incident on April 3, 2026, was arrested in Gidan Mangoro village, Shendam Local Government Area.
