Forest security service warns against fake recruitment fees
The Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS) has clarified that its recruitment drive is a voluntary initiative, not a government employment scheme. The clarification follows reports of applicants being asked to pay large sums for supposed forest guard jobs via a WhatsApp group. Joseph Obadiah, Assistant Commander General, acknowledged internal issues and cases of exploitation by rogue commanders. He stressed that involvement in the service is optional and not salaried by the government.
