Lagos taskforce arrests more suspects for harassing motorists
Three more suspected hoodlums have been arrested by the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Taskforce for harassing road users. Tokunbo Wahab, the state Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, announced the arrests, which took place at Palmgrove bus stop and Oniru area. The suspects were reportedly attacking owners of broken-down vehicles, a menace locally known as ‘omotaku’. The taskforce says it will continue its crackdown to keep Lagos roads safe.
What happened
- Tokunbo Wahab revealed that the arrests were made at Palmgrove bus stop along Ikorodu Road and in the Oniru area.
- The suspects were apprehended for forcibly attacking victims whose vehicles had broken down.
- The operation is part of ongoing efforts to address harassment by individuals known as ‘omotaku’.
- A similar operation earlier in the week saw taskforce operatives intervene at Marwa Bus Stop in Lekki and Palmgrove.
