NDLEA uncovers cocaine in dry fish and arrests suspects in multiple states
In a series of operations, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency intercepted cocaine hidden in imported dry fish and arrested several suspects linked to drug trafficking. Akputa Dickson Ejike was apprehended with cocaine pellets intended for export, while other suspects were caught with methamphetamine, cannabis, and other drugs. The agency’s actions spanned across Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo, Benue, Edo, and Taraba states. Brig. Gen. Mohamed Marwa (Rtd) praised the efforts of the operatives involved in these operations.
What happened
- Akputa Dickson Ejike was arrested at the Ojo area of Lagos with 237 wraps of cocaine concealed in dry stock fish on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
- NDLEA operatives intercepted two consignments bound for the UK containing methamphetamine, Morphine Sulphate, and Fentanyl on Wednesday, March 25.
- On March 26, Omolade Abigail Jolayemi and Sarah Zainab Agbabiaka were arrested in Yaba, Lagos, with 135 blocks of cannabis, and Anayo Lucky Ohabiro was caught with 78 blocks of Ghana Loud in Surulere.
- An 80-year-old grandpa, Oke Samuel, was arrested in Ekiti State on Thursday 26th March with skunk and methamphetamine.
- Other major seizures and arrests occurred in Ondo, Benue, Edo, and Taraba states on March 23 and Tuesday, March 24, involving suspects like Enuwa Kehinde Kingsley, Saater Nyam, Felix Donald, Osama Mamuda, and Auwal Umar.
