El-Rufai released by ICPC to attend mother’s burial
Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai has returned to his Abuja home after being granted temporary release by the ICPC. The release was on compassionate grounds so he could attend the burial of his late mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who died in Cairo, Egypt, after an illness. El-Rufai had been in ICPC custody since February 18 over allegations of financial misconduct. He pleaded not guilty to all charges brought against him.
