
Police investigate killing of ushering manager in Port Harcourt
A full investigation is underway after the killing of ushering manager Special Bensington in Port Harcourt. The attack happened while Bensington was with her friend Miss Divine Anyanwu on a Bolt ride to an event centre. The Rivers State Police Command, represented by spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko, has condemned the act and promised to bring the perpetrators to justice. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
What happened
- Special Bensington and her friend Miss Divine Anyanwu were attacked by gunmen while heading to an event centre along Odili Road.
- The incident occurred on March 21 at about 4:30 p.m., as reported by Anyanwu to the Abuloma Police Division.
- The assailants, suspected to have trailed the victims from a hotel, opened fire along the Total Gospel area, off Odili Road.
- Bensington sustained gunshot injuries and was taken to BMH Hospital, where she was later confirmed dead.
