
Three arrested in Ibadan for alleged human parts trade
Three suspects have been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly possessing and selling suspected human parts in Ibadan. According to the police, the arrests were made during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Adekile area. Oyategbe Joseph was apprehended first, and his confession led to the arrest of Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo and Pastor Ayodele Taiwo. The Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.
What happened
- The police intercepted an unregistered motorcycle and found a package containing flesh suspected to be human parts.
- Oyategbe Joseph was arrested at the scene and confessed to obtaining the parts from an unknown individual and selling them to two others.
- Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo and Pastor Ayodele Taiwo were subsequently arrested and also confessed to buying the suspected human parts.
- The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
