
Police arrest gang targeting transporters in Anambra
A five-member criminal gang has been dismantled by the Anambra State Police Command. The group was known for robbing commercial transporters in Ihiala Local Government Area. SP Tochukwu Ikenga revealed that a female suspect played a key role by luring victims. Several firearms and stolen motorcycles were recovered during the operation.

- Anambra State Police Command operatives arrested a five-member gang, including a female suspect, in the early hours of March 24, 2026.
- The operation led to the recovery of a locally made Beretta pistol, three Qlink motorcycles (150 Tiger model) suspected to be stolen, and a red-coloured face mask.
- The suspects are Sunday Chukwudebele, Adaobi Udeze, Chimezie Ifebi, Kelvin Chukwuejike, and Uzi Chukwuejike Williams Umeh.
- The female suspect posed as a passenger to lure motorcycle transporters to isolated locations for robbery.
- In a separate operation, three suspected armed robbers and cultists were arrested on March 21, 2026, after a police raid in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area.
