Police deny shooting at NURTW headquarters, arraign Baruwa and others
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has refuted claims circulating on social media about officers shooting at the National Union of Road Transport Workers headquarters in Garki II, Abuja. According to the police, their officers only intervened to restore order after a violent incident at the union’s premises. Ibikunle Baruwa, the court-reinstated National President of the NURTW, was arraigned alongside six others in connection with the violence. Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh clarified the sequence of events and dismissed the shooting allegations as false.
