Plateau state sees over 5,000 tuberculosis cases officially recorded
Plateau Commissioner for Health, Dr Nicholas Baamlong, revealed that only 5,397 tuberculosis cases were officially recorded out of an estimated 11,549 cases in 2025. Baamlong made this announcement while briefing newsmen in Jos. He highlighted concerns about a significant notification gap, especially in poor communities with limited access to health facilities. The commissioner emphasized the importance of prompt diagnosis and free treatment for tuberculosis.
