Number of Calabar gas explosion victims increases as officials visit hospital

The number of people injured in a gas explosion in Calabar, Cross River State, has increased to 60. Dr Henry Ayuk, the Commissioner for Health, visited the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital to assess the victims' conditions. The explosion, which happened along Edibe Edibe in Calabar South, also damaged several houses. The state government has promised to cover the hospital bills for those affected.
What happened
