School children and teacher survive Lagos car accident
Three occupants of a Suzuki Alto—a teacher and two students from Lagos State Model Junior College, Igbonla, Epe—escaped serious harm after their vehicle collided with another car in the Onipanu area of Lagos State. According to the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the accident involved both vehicles speeding along the expressway. The impact caused significant damage, but all involved survived without life-threatening injuries. The students received prompt medical attention and were safely handed over to their parents.
What happened
- The collision involved a Honda Accord with one occupant and a Suzuki Alto carrying Mr. Joseph (teacher), Animashaun Ridwan, and Ogunbamowo Michael (students).
- Both vehicles were reportedly speeding when they collided, causing one to veer onto the opposite side of the expressway.
- The two students experienced head and eye discomfort but were stabilised and given first aid by LASEMA paramedics.
- The damaged Suzuki Alto was removed from the road to prevent further incidents, and both vehicles were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force.
