
Three dead, five rescued after bus falls into Oyo river
Three bodies have been recovered and five people rescued after a commercial bus plunged into the Ariyo River in Oyo State. The incident occurred along Amunloko Road in Ona-Ara Local Government Area. What happened
- The Oyo State Fire Services Agency responded to a distress call about a bus that fell into the Ariyo River.
- A Suzuki commercial bus with number plate OSUN LEW 484 XA was carrying eight passengers when it lost control and plunged into the river.
- Five passengers were rescued alive and taken to Ona-Ara Private Hospital for treatment, while three were recovered dead.
- The remains of the deceased were handed over to policemen led by ASP Aishat Ibrahim from the Ogbere Divisional Headquarters.
- Officials from the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority and Glorious Temitope, Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, were present during the rescue.
