
Terrorists kill herder and steal 1,400 sheep in Borno attack
Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists attacked a nomadic settlement in Wuturo, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State. The assault resulted in the death of one herder and injury to another, with about 1,400 sheep stolen. ASP Nahum Daso of the Borno State Police Command confirmed the incident. Security agencies have since mobilised to the area to address the situation.
What we know
- The attack occurred on 10th March, 2026, at about 22:30 hours, when gunmen on five motorcycles invaded the settlement.
- Ahmadu Baida, 40, was killed, and Mohammadu Baida, 30, sustained a gunshot wound.
- Approximately 1,400 sheep were rustled during the attack.
- A combined team of police, military, Civilian Joint Task Force, and local hunters responded swiftly to the scene.
- The Borno State Police Command, led by Commissioner Naziru Abdulmajid, has launched coordinated efforts to track the perpetrators and recover the livestock.
