Unesco praises Otti’s focus on education and pledges continued partnership
Alex Otti, Governor of Abia State, has received commendation from UNESCO for his administration’s reforms in education and human capital development. The UNESCO delegation, led by Dr Jean-Paul Ngome-Abiaga, highlighted the state’s progress in infrastructure, fiscal discipline, and education since 2023. The team also noted the positive impact of the Abia First Education Programme and ongoing collaboration between UNESCO and the state. Olapeju Ibekwe of Sterling One Foundation invited Otti to join upcoming initiatives aimed at accelerating educational development in Nigeria.
