Unicef launches podcast to empower girls in Kano
The United Nations Children’s Fund has launched the “Yes! Girls Podcast Watch Session” in Kano to give adolescent girls a platform to share their perspectives. The initiative aims to strengthen girls’ rights, wellbeing, and leadership by providing a safe digital space for discussions. Ngozi Izuora-Songu, UNICEF’s Adolescent Development Specialist, highlighted the importance of listening to girls and addressing issues such as education, mental health, and gender equality. The event also commemorated the 2026 International Women’s Day with the theme “Give to Gain.”
