Africa leads in aviation accident rates, IATA report finds
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has reported that Africa had the highest aviation accident rate in the world in 2025, according to its Annual Safety Report. The continent faces ongoing challenges with runway safety, turboprop operations, and the timeliness of accident investigations.
