JAMB remits N1.57bn to CBT centres for UTME registration
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has paid N1.57 billion to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for their role in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration. The payment covers the N700 registration fee collected on behalf of the centres from candidates. According to Fabian Benjamin, this initiative aims to reduce unauthorised charges and promote a cashless registration process. JAMB also introduced a verification policy to ensure only valid registrations are paid for.
