
Police arrest suspects in Bauchi over abuse, rape and fraud cases

What happened
- The police arrested Bala Mato, 48, for allegedly luring and assaulting a 15-year-old boy in Burra, Ningi Local Government Area.
- The incident was reported by Danalami Umar on February 25, 2026, with the offence said to have occurred on February 17 at about 8 pm.
- In a separate case, Kamaluddeen Aliyu, 24, was arrested after being accused of raping two minors aged four and five; the case was reported on February 23.
- Both victims and suspects in the abuse cases were taken for medical examination, and the sexual violence case was transferred for further investigation.
- The police also arrested Aliyu Yahaya, 23, over alleged fraud involving ₦3 million, while his accomplice, Abdullahi, remains at large.
