
Soldiers intercept cattle rustlers and neutralise terrorists in Benue
Troops from the Joint Task Force Operation WHIRL STROKE have disrupted several criminal activities in Benue State. According to Lt. Ahmad Zubairu, the soldiers foiled cattle rustling attempts, arrested suspects, and neutralised terrorists during multiple operations. The operations took place in different parts of the state, with several arrests and recoveries made. Maj.-Gen. Moses Gara has reassured residents of the task force’s dedication to safeguarding the region.

- Operations were conducted between March 3 and March 7 in Benue State.
- On March 3, 2026, troops arrested three suspected cattle rustlers and recovered stolen livestock in Obagaji, Agatu Local Government Area.
- The suspects included Mamuda Hussein, Sunday Moses, and Teny Musa; a vehicle with a fake Kogi State Government plate was also seized.
- On March 4, troops ambushed terrorists at Abuja Village, neutralising one armed criminal and recovering ammunition.
- On March 5, troops repelled an attack at Abuja Village, neutralising another terrorist, and on March 7, a suspect was arrested with two stolen cows while attempting to escape by boat in Guma Local Government Area.
