
Four suspected kidnappers arrested after Ondo attack
Four individuals have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for their alleged involvement in a violent attack along Liberty Avenue in Ilu-Abo. The incident resulted in the death of a resident and the abduction of a woman, who was later released. The suspects were apprehended after intelligence reports led police to a hotel in Akure. Abayomi Jimoh, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrests and ongoing investigations.
What happened
- Four suspects, including Abdullahi Ismaila, Babanyara Japi, Babuga Abubakar, and Adama Usman, were arrested by the police.
- The suspects were linked to an attack along Liberty Avenue in Ilu-Abo that resulted in the death of John Ofuduwa and the kidnapping of Oladeinde Tomilola.
- Police recovered ₦1,400,000, suspected to be ransom money from kidnapping activities.
- The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps).
- The police stated that further investigations are ongoing to determine the suspects’ involvement in other criminal activities.
