- Six final-year Open and Distance Learning Nursing students from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology died in a road accident on the Ilorin–Ogbomoso Road on February 22, 2026.
- The students, identified as Shehu Nana Firdawsi Hamza, Idris Jamila, Abdulraheem Maimunah Hamza, Blessing Kevwe, Owoicho Elizabeth, and Aroke Ozavize Victoria, were traveling from Suleja, Niger State, to the university for their final examinations.
- The accident occurred at Otte in Kwara State while they were in a commercial bus.

- On February 5, Kwara State University also confirmed the death of a 400-level student, Idris Agboluaje, in a separate auto crash in the Malete area of Kwara State.
