DSS arrests another suspect linked to Owo church attack
Sani Yusuf, a high-profile commander of the Islamic State West Africa Province, has been arrested by the Department of State Services for his alleged role in the Owo church massacre. The arrest took place in the Iguosa community, Ovia North Local Government Area of Edo State. Sani Yusuf reportedly confessed to planning and executing the attack, as well as participating in other terror activities. The Owo Church attack on June 5, 2022, remains one of the deadliest incidents in Southwest Nigeria.
