
Police arrest 10 suspected kidnappers and recover ransom in Ondo
Police in Ondo State have arrested 10 people suspected of involvement in kidnapping. The arrests were made during a joint operation by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Section and Police Mobile Force operatives. According to DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the suspects were apprehended in Akure, and ransom money was recovered. The police say investigations are ongoing to identify more accomplices.
What happened
- Muritala Muhammed, Mustapha Adamu, Usman Ibrahim, Amisu Aruna, Asiru Abdulasis, Abduliu Sanni, Ibrahim Suraju, Noah Isiaku, Abdulahi Suraju, and Arabi Hamet were arrested in Akure.
- The operation led to the recovery of an operational motorcycle and ransom money, including burnt currency notes.
- The suspects have reportedly made confessional statements about their roles in the syndicate.
- Police are processing the recovered exhibits for further investigation and action.
