Osun assembly approves changes to local government law
The Osun State House of Assembly has passed a bill amending sections of the state’s local government law. The bill, titled “Osun State Local Government Amendment No 2 Bill 2026,” went through its third reading before being passed at a plenary session in Osogbo. Lawal Bamidele presented the committee’s report, and Adewale Egbedun and Babajide Adewumi played key roles in the adoption and passage of the bill. Clean copies of the bill will be sent to Governor Ademola Adeleke for assent.
