NDLEA intercepts suspects with drugs at border and airport
Three individuals, including Rabi Muhammad, Michael Gohouri, and Kolapo Oladapo Raji, were apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for attempting to smuggle drugs through various routes. The agency uncovered drugs concealed in a fake pregnancy, inside a suspect's stomach, and in large bags at a residence. The arrests took place at the Seme border, Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, and a residence in Ikate, Lekki. The suspects allegedly planned to distribute the drugs both locally and internationally.
What happened
- Rabi Muhammad was intercepted at the Seme border with a fake pregnancy concealing 3,200 capsules of tramadol on Monday 16th February 2026.
- On the same day, Michael Gohouri was stopped at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport and later excreted 82 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.49kg.
- Michael Gohouri had arrived in Lagos from Milan on 17th January, 2026 and was expected to be paid 5,000 Euros for delivering the drugs in Milan.
- Kolapo Oladapo Raji was arrested at his Ikate, Lekki residence on Thursday 12th February 2026, where 89.2kg of Canadian Loud cannabis and a 2024 Toyota Hilux were seized.
- The NDLEA stated that Kolapo Oladapo Raji had been on their watchlist since 2025 and admitted to financing and distributing drug consignments.
