Police detain 15 suspects and recover firearm in Enugu raid

The Enugu State Police Command has detained 15 suspects after a raid on criminal hotspots. According to spokesperson SP Daniel Ndukwe, the operation was carried out by the Crack Tactical Squad at the Four Corner area of Ozalla Community in Nkanu West Local Government Area. The police recovered a locally fabricated pistol and bags of suspected Indian Hemp during the raid. Mr Mamman Giwa, the Commissioner of Police, has directed officers to continue proactive crime-fighting efforts.
What happened
- The police raided criminal hotspots at the Four Corner area of Ozalla Community in Nkanu West.
- SP Daniel Ndukwe stated that 15 suspects, including nine males and six females, were detained.
- Two polythene bags of dried weed suspected to be Indian Hemp were recovered from the suspects.
- A locally fabricated pistol loaded with one live cartridge was also found during the search.
- Mr Mamman Giwa instructed officers to sustain efforts to identify and dismantle criminal hideouts.
