Katsina state completes 1,000 free eye surgeries for residents
Katsina State Government has provided free eye surgeries to at least 1,000 less-privileged patients. The initiative was supported by the Darrul Imara Charity Foundation and Endowment, Kano. According to Hauwa Isha, the surgeries took place at the Old Market Eye Hospital in Katsina from February 7 to 11, 2026. The Ministry of Health has responded to complaints about alleged staff misconduct by setting up an investigative committee.
