Amotekun arrests 95 suspects for various crimes in Ondo
The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as the Amotekun Corps, has apprehended 95 suspected criminals across all 18 local government areas in the state. The arrests were made possible through the combined efforts of Amotekun, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Department of State Services, and the Nigerian Army. Akogun Adeleye, the state Amotekun Commander, revealed that the suspects are linked to crimes such as kidnapping, stealing, burglary, and illegal mining. He emphasized the ongoing collaboration among security agencies to maintain peace and order in Ondo State.
What happened
- Akogun Adeleye announced the arrest of 95 suspects, including 12 for kidnapping, 19 for other breaches of law, and 3 related to anti-grazing issues.
- Some suspects were apprehended in areas like Ilu-Abo, Akure; Idogun-Ugbe; Alagbaka; Ayede, Akure; Iloro Camp; and Ogbese in Akure North Local Government Area.
- 61 of the suspects were found inside a trailer truck and are still being profiled by security agencies.
